GREENSBORO,N.C. C.S serial number on breechblock, frame, barrel and triggerguard, weight .52 caliber about 6.9 lbs. weight .54 caliber about 7.6 lbs. We say, without fear of contradiction, that it is the best Breech-Loading gun in the Southern Confederacy. It can be shot with perfect safety when loaded either from the breech or the muzzle. This gun is less complicated and easier kept in order than any gun that has been invented in this county. The Gun was invented in Guilford County, N.C., and we are now manufacturing it for the State of North Carolina, at our shop in Greensboro. We are ready to sell shop rights to Manufacturers in the gun business in any states in the Confederacy. (Signed) TARPLEY, GARRETT & CO."
